Dana Westerfield, founder and President of Go For It! Career Consulting, holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology / Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She is also qualified through the Center for Applications of Psychological Type to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). In addition to her counseling background, she is an experienced consultant in the staffing industry. Her consulting services have spanned to include, but are not limited to: Recruitment, job placement, career assessments, interview coaching, resume writing/critiquing, job search strategy, salary negotiation and behavior management.

Dana had heard this timeless adage many a time. Yet the question was always how. How do I choose a job that I will love? And, once I do choose a job that I know I will love, how do I ensure I get the job?
After working as a staffing consultant in both New Jersey and Virginia, Dana realized that the individuals she was working with needed more than just interview tips and help finding a job. They needed help finding careers; careers that would lend them both fulfillment and success.
On a daily basis, Dana met individuals full of potential and wanting to use that potential to achieve career success. However, without the guidance and knowledge of which path was best for them, many just eagerly accepted what was available. Staffing agencies were a quick fix for these individuals, but satisfaction was often short lived.
Since the emphasis in the staffing industry is on job placement, there was often little time for Dana to help individuals where she believed it was needed most. As time allowed, she would work with many individuals to improve resumes, hone interviewing skills and revise job search strategies. As the desire to help these individuals grew, Dana knew it was time to branch out on her own new career path.
Driven by her professional experiences and a search for the career direction that would bring Dana the most satisfaction, both a passion and a business were born.
Dana has particular expertise in helping individuals navigate through critical career transitions. Today Dana helps clients all throughout North Carolina, New Jersey and Virginia improve resumes, prepare for interviews, negotiate salary/benefits, strategize job searches, improve current job performance, obtain promotions and effectively cope with accompanying stress.
